The Pumpkin Patch

The day awoke with bright sun and blue skies…..a perfect autumn day. Several times this fall the kids talked about going to the pumpkin patch. They talked about all the fun times we’ve had there over the years……yes, it literally has been years, because we’ve gone almost every year since our kids came home. But we didn’t go last year and the kids really missed it. But today was the day!

We started off at the huge “jumping pillow”. Jeremiah wouldn’t go near the thing, but Natalie, Ben, Jadyn and Autumn loved it. Jadyn had the hardest time getting to the top because her socks kept slipping her back down, so I had to give her a few boosts and then she figured it out.

In the past, we never really done the corn maze, but all the kids wanted to do it today. Going at the end of the season is great because the maze is more like a corn trample…..really helps that feeling of claustrophobia which is why I’m not a fan of mazes. We did the

short maze in about 10 minutes and the kids decided that we really needed to do the long maze which involved answering questions to find the next scarecrow. Thankfully they had a Bible question sheet so we knew the answers :).

The corn maze was great, the cow train a blast, the corn crib super fun, but the best event of the day…….the underground slide. Jadyn especially LOVED going down the slide.

I think a close second was the hay (less) ride and picking out a pumpkin. We were so busy playing that when 2 o’clock rolled around we had not yet eaten lunch! So I called some friends and they happily met us at the park for a late lunch. Such a fun day!
