Yesterday afternoon, Mama Renee and Papa Jim came for a visit! It was so wonderful to see them again!! And they came bearing gifts! Which my kids just LOVED! A few nights ago Renee and I were talking on the phone and somehow the subject of Jeremiah’s great delight in tractors came up. Stephen and I had hunted for a riding toy for him (tractor of course), but could not find one that was not motorized. Anyway back to my conversation with Renee….she said that she thought she had just the thing….and was she ever right!! The gift they brought for Jeremiah was a riding toy tractor!!
Exactly what we wanted to get for him!! Poor little Jeremiah has not been feeling very good and had just woke up from his nap (very unhappy at that), but after checking out the tractor he went over and gave Renee a thank you kiss and then went and gave Jim a big hug! I was really surprised because he’s normally very reserved around people for a while.
Carlos was of course loving the extra attention and talking a mile a minute! Ben slept through most of the visit (he’s not feeling that great either). And little Natalie! She warmed up, slowly!! Really the thing that won her over….techno!! Yep, forget the girly My Little Pony, give me the gizmos…..Renee’s camera and Jim’s Blackberry!! Crazy girl!! Sometimes it’s hard to believe that Natalie was once a tiny baby not living with us, but in the care of Jim and Renee. And what great care they gave her. I could just see even in their faces today how much they love our little girl!! What a great blessing and gift they are to our family. This is one very beautiful side of adoption….bringing people together who are striving for the same thing…..uniting children with families that will love and care for them.
