New Ride, but God!

We drive, we drive A LOT! Basically any time we go somewhere it means an hour of driving. It’s not the driving that’s so bad (aside from our gas budget line being HUGE), it’s more the restless passengers and the fact it’s almost summer again, which means another summer with no AC in our van. And yes, in comparison to world hunger, wars and natural disasters having no AC is not a big deal, but it sure makes those hours of travel much more pleasant! We had hoped to get a van last year, but after moving twice in 3 months…….yeah, not happening! But that doesn’t stop a girl from dreaming and saving!

I posted this on March 27th on Facebook: Been negotiating the past few days on a van…..super excited last night since we decided to buy the van (it wasn’t white!!!!!!). Well God had different plans…..they sold it last night! God is good all the time!! Obviously that wasn’t the van for us.

This little van deal (we called the Florida van) was crazy! For days Stephen was talking with the dealer, we were talking and praying. Finally on that Wednesday night after AWANA we sat on the couch to once again discuss the Florida van and crunch the numbers. After crunching and praying we decided to purchase this van! Stephen contacted them first thing Thursday morning……and they sold it the evening before……probably while we were crunching and praying!! Haha

Weeks passed, literally weeks and there was nothing new on the market that fit our requirements or budget. More time and no new vans! We knew that in order to take a trip to see Stephen’s sister and go to Memphis this spring we had to have a new vehicle……our red van was just not up to the task and honestly I wasn’t up to spending hours on end in a cramped and hot van! We were at the point of calling Stephen’s sister and cancelling our trip, but God! Two small, but oh so powerful words! A new van came on the market in Oklahoma of all places! After a few days of negotiations and checking on plane tickets, God had provided a van…..and it was BLACK! My first choice in color!! The van had every tiny detail we wanted, they would hold it for us until after Mary’s wedding and drive it to the Tulsa airport! But GOD!

Oh, and just one more little bonus……Stephen listed our red van on Craigs List and in two days it was sold!

We are digging this new ride!
