Catching up

Wow, it’s been a busy two weeks!

The first week was spent getting ready for Stephen’s parents, his brother and family to arrive…..figuring out beds for 7 extra people can be a little tricky!  We had anticipated that Stephen’s family would be staying with us longer, but God directed them back west, so they only got to spend four days with us.  Poor Carlos was so disappointed!  He had great plans for spending time with Abuelo and Nanny and his cousins Amy and Austin (not so many plans with baby Anna, but she sure is a cutie).  The cousins did have a fabulous time playing together.  Jeremiah is just two months older than Austin and they both hit it off right away and had a ton of fun playing cars, trains, jumping on the trampoline and playing dress-up.  Carlos and Amy also had fun, but it was interesting to me to see that gender is starting to matter to Carlos.  Amy had ideas on what she wanted to play and Carlos had ideas on what he wanted to play, but they had to find the middle ground……something not overly girly or very rough-and-tumble.  Ben and Natalie also enjoyed their cousins…..tagging along wherever they went.

And not to leave the adults out……we had fun staying up late several nights playing games!  Stephen and I’ve not played games together (other than with the kids…..Sorry, Candyland and Monopoly Jr.) for such a long time.  I’d forgotten how much fun it is to play games.
