Nanny…..This blogs for you!

The next few blogs posts are especially for Stephen’s mom……loaded with grandkid pictures……so Nanny, these are for you.  Enjoy And for the rest of you….non-grandmas…..you are more than welcome to read along……..Though I will admit, it might be a little cuteness and every-day-life overload.

Soooooo, where to start…..uhmmmmm.  Well this past Wednesday we had our AWANA award ceremony.  Carlos received his Sparks Award!  God has blessed my three big kids with an amazing aptitude to memorize…….they far surpass me in memorizing ability.  Carlos completed his third year book, reviewed it and finished a workbook.  But really the amazing thing is….if you ask him to say a verse from any of those books, he can!  No short term memory work going on here!!  I love that Carlos is hiding God’s word in his heart and it’s been great to be able to actually apply those verse that he memorized on several different occasions!!

Jeremiah also “graduated”……… from Cubbies this year…..sniff.  It’s hard to believe that my first baby is getting so big!!  Jeremiah is not my social butterfly and going to Cubbies is a huge deal to him….he loves it….but it’s also a little stressful for him.  But I’ve been so pleased with how much more willing he has been this year to participate and interact with the other kids. And Jeremiah just loves his teachers.  Mrs. Cubbyham broke her foot in the fall…..and that threw Jeremiah for a loop……but he just loved his new teachers Miss Beth and Miss Liz.  Hardly a day went by without Natalie and Jeremiah having a conversation about Cubbies and Miss Beth and Miss Liz. Jeremiah said all 30 verses in his book….and then reviewed the entire book again!  And he finished up his review about 6 weeks before the end of our AWANA year!!  That boy is a memorizing machine!

Getting their goody bags…..not a great picture, but the best shot we got.

Natalie completed her first official year of Cubbies.  I wasn’t sure how many verses she would be able to say since at the beginning of the year she was just 2 ½ years-old….but she by far surpassed all my expectations.  She said every single verse in her book…..30 total!  Now I will admit if you asked her to say some of them today she probably would not be able too……but for just turning 3 last month……I think she did pretty good!
