On Saturday Ben will turn 5 months old!! Wow!! He’s such a fun baby and I am enjoying each moment with him. He’s finally putting on a little chub, but loves to kick his legs so much that I think he’s kicking off most of the fat!! Ben now weighs 14 pounds and is 25.5 inches long (6th percentile for weight and 29th percentile for height). We still call him Mr. Piddles because he loves to take FOREVER eating his bottle (he thinks he’s a first born 1st child, not a first born 4th child!!). Since learning how to roll over both ways last week, he is busy rolling all around the living room!! Ben also has learned to pull himself forward to reach toys (all my other babies scooted backwards so it’s fun that he moves forward). And speaking of toys, he loves toys!! He loves his gym toys, Natalie’s baby doll, Carlos’ Legos, Jeremiah’s Crayons, whatever is in reach he wants to play!! On Sunday Ben actually pushed himself up on his knees!! He had now idea what to do next and crashed down on his face….poor little baby!!
Ben is the happiest little guy. He smiles all the time and has the cutest belly laugh! Carlos and Jeremiah especially love making him laugh. He loves to munch on his fingers and toes and poor little guy drools all the time, but no sign of teeth yet. We’ve tried and tried to get him to take a binkie, but no…he only likes to play with it. He is ever so slightly a mama’s boy, but loves his Papa too.
Of course the other big news in Ben’s life is that he now sleeps in a crib in his very own room!! I think he likes the bigger bed, especially now that he’s rolling over so much. Also today I let him try a teething biscuit and he actually liked it!! So I think it’s time to give real food a try!!
