Snorking and Surgery

A few nights ago Stephen went upstairs to turn on the heat in the boys room only to find the extra set of sheets (yes, they were laying on the floor waiting for me to carry them downstairs to be washed) covering Jeremiah’s head.  The next morning I asked Carlos if he put the sheets on Jeremiah and he said, “yes, I did mommy.  He was snorking (snoring) so loud I could not get to sleep.”  Like any good mommy I instructed my son that putting sheets on his little brother’s head was not a good or wise thing to do and then I headed off to the bathroom to howl with laughter!!

Over the past few months we’ve noticed Jeremiah’s snoring (or snorking as Carlos call it), has gotten very loud…..and I mean VERY loud and is very much an every night occurrence.  So at the beginning of December when Jeremiah had his well child visit with our family doctor we got a referral to an Ear Nose and Throat specialist.  We went to the ENT just before Christmas and she recommend having his adenoids taken out.  They are very large and causing an obstruction to his air passageway.

So, this Friday our little boy will have surgery.  Oh, I have to say….I don’t like it at all!!  Somehow I don’t deal very well with this type of stuff!!  It’s scary, icky and just plain ol blahhhhhh!  I am thankful that we were able to have the procedure done before Ben’s arrival….that is one big blessing.

So if you think about it this week, would you pray for little Jeremiah?  Pray for God’s protection, wisdom for his doctors and a calm heart for his mommy!!
