Family Update

Ok, so I usually do a “kid” update every couple of months, but so muchhas been going on with our whole family that I thought I would do afamily update, starting with the kids of course!!

Carlos
Carlos is 46.5 inches tall and weighs 51 pounds.  So that putsCarlos is in the 84th percentile for weight and 82nd percentile forheight

Carlos is such a blessing in our family. Many times throughout the dayI wonder how we could have ever been a family without him!  He andJeremiah are the best of friends and just love playing together. Carlos newest “fun” is of course our trampoline.  He loves jumpingand turning “flip flops” as he calls somersault.  He still loveshis cars and trucks and playing basketball.  And Food….he loves toeat!!  Veggies are still not his favorite, but he eats them without much complaint, but he LOVES fruit!  Carlos BEGS for me to buya watermelon each time we go to the store, but I just can’t fathompaying $7.00 for this tiny melon….so he’s going to have to wait untilsummer time for watermelon!!

Carlos favorite phrase is:  “I appreciated it”.  He can’tquite get the “appreciate” out, so it takes some deciphering, but hedefinitely knows what he’s saying.  Carlos wants to be a policeofficer when he grows up and likes anything to do with other peoplebraking the law.

Carlos loves going to Sunday school and “Bible” school (AWANA). He counts down the days until Wednesday night AWANA.  I’m reallyproud of the hard work he’s done this year memorizing the Bibleverses.  At the beginning of the year, I was not sure if he thatwould have the language skills to complete the book, but boy has heproven me wrong.  God has given Carlos an amazing ability tomemorize!

I would say that Carlos all time favorite thing though is to talk. I’ve never met a little boy with more things to say.  Lee (mybrother) has been working on our basement the past couple of weeks andeach day Carlos says, “Tio Lee, will you come and eat lunch with us sowe can talk?”  And talk he does!!

Jeremiah
Jeremiah is 31.5 inches tall and weighs 26 lbs. So Jeremiah is in the6th percentile for height and the 35th percentile forweight    .

Jeremiah’s newest skills involve talking too!  What do you know….our house is NOT a quiet place!! He has learned so many new words over the past month it’samazing!  And Jeremiah is very expressive!!  He knows what hewants when he wants it!!  The fun part of his learning is now ifyou ask him to say a word he will try to repeat it after you! Some of his new words are:  Nanny, Abuelo, star, moon, poop, hotdog, Lee, dog.

Jeremiah is a very happy little boy.  He can entertain himself forquite a while with books, cars or puzzles.  He lovespuzzles!  The only trouble is when he wants to work Carlos’ bigpuzzles….just too many complicated pieces!   Jeremiah alsoloves the trampoline.  Not so much for jumping, cause he’s notquite figured out how, but for running around and dancing!  He hasso much fun dancing around in a circle and then plopping down on hisbottom!  Jeremiah also has a new found love of singing.  Onour way home from church a couple of weeks ago, I had the radio on andall of a sudden Jeremiah started singing a long with the song. His version went like this:  ohhhhhh ohhhhhhh ohhhhhhh cool car ohhhhhhhhhhhh ohhhhhhhhhhh ohhhhhhhhh mama ohhhhhhh ohhhhhhh ohhhhhh tractor ohhhh ohhhhhhh.  It was so funny.  He was singing at the top of his lungs!

Jeremiah has lost a lot of his shyness, but still acts shy aroundpeople he does not know at all.  He sits with us during about halfof the church service and then once the sermon starts I normally haveto talk him to the nursery.  He just wants to talk!  Jeremiahdoes pretty good in the nursery and only cries for about half a minuteright after I leave and then he’s off playing and happy.

Our Family News
Well the big news in our family is……drum roll please!  We are adopting again!! Yep, praying and paper-working that God would add #3 to ourfamily.  As most of you know, I have an adoption addiction, sothis may not be a huge surprise!  On March 8th, we had ourorientation meeting with our new adoption agency and this past Thursday(April 12th) I mailed off all the required paperwork.  After a lotof prayer and consideration we have decided to adopt (Lord willing)domestically.  Our hearts are in many ways still in Guatemala, butbecause of the adoption political situation we felt that Guatemala wasnot the best option for our family (this time).  And so God directed our paths to domestic adoption.

I have started a blog (for you other adoption addicted people!!) to keep track of the process and my thoughts (here) if you want to check it out.

I think that’s probably enough news to last a while.  So adios for now!

Oh, ok, I can’t post without posting some pictures……

Yes, I admit I bribed Jeremiah with chocolate to get him to wear his bandana!!
