FDL

Well today is the last day of November and I’m no where near the end ofour adoption story…..but anyway, here’s the next chapter.

By the middle of May (3 months after we had our finger prints taken) wehad not yet gotten our FDL (Favorable Determination Letter), grantingus approval to adopt.  But after we contacted the office, it didfinally arrive about a week later…..but the letter was incorrect!

Based on our agency, AGCI, recommendation, we received approval fromour home study agency for 2 children and requested FDL approval for 2,even though we were only “planning” to adopt one at a time (here we goagain….our plan!!).  Well when we finally got our FDL it saidapproval was for only one child.  Stephen was pretty nonchalantabout it and since we only anticipated adopting one….it really did notmatter, but for some reason, I just could not let it go.  So Icontacted our CIS office to let them know that our FDL arrivedincorrect.  And a few days later we received a correctedFDL.  Why it bothered me so much, I have no idea, other than Godnudging me to have the FDL correct!!

Next Chapter…..coming soon!
